Chiesa del Collegio di Maria SS. Annunziata

The Church of St. Mary’s School

This church dates back to the beginning of the nineteenth century. A few years later its construction, the school was built next to it to teach the arts and trades to the young girls of Menfi. Today the building, surmounted by the city clock, has returned to its ancient splendour after a careful restoration. Inside it hosts part of a nineteenth-century painting by Giuseppe Sabella based on a painting by Mariano Rossi.

Unfortunately, the eastern section of the building that originally hosted the girls’ school is still abandoned.
